20. STRAMU Würzburg

International Festival of Street Music and Street Art

Gitarrenkoffer mit Geld - Gefällts dir gut, wirf was in Hut!

With up to 100,000 visitors every year, StraMu Würzburg is one of the largest festivals for street music and street art in Europe.

Every year in September, hundreds of artists from all over the world meet in our beautiful city on the Main and enliven it with music, juggling, fire shows, children’s entertainment, dance and top-class artistry.

StraMu is

unique because internationally well known artists as well as regional musicians and up-and-coming artists can present themselves to the public side by side.

At this year’s around 20 venues, all directions of pavement culture find their space and transform the city centre into a large theatre for a whole weekend.

The participating artists perform directly on the street without stages or barriers, as this allows for more direct communication with the audience. This enables easy and barrier-free access to culture for everyone and enlivens the city centre with culture in public space.

... a classic "collect in hat"-festival

Our slogan is: “If you like it, throw something in the hat!”

The artists receive no remuneration, we only pay for transport, board and lodging. You, the audience, reward the performances with a few coins or notes in the hat or by buying a CD.

Since StraMu does not charge admission fees, we ask you to reward this wealth of great performances accordingly. If you want to ensure that the StraMu takes place every year, you should become a member of the STRAMU e.V. support association.
